The West Linn-Wilsonville School District prides itself on substantial staff development opportunities for its teaching staff. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores are among the highest in Oregon, and Oregon consistently ranks first or second in SAT scores nationwide for states in which fifty percent or more of the graduating seniors take the test. Approximately 90 percent of all West Linn-Wilsonville graduates go on to two- and four-year colleges.

The FrightTown Haunted House returns to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Rose Quarter. This is the Pacific Northwest’s newest haunted event. Starting September 7^th until Halloween, you can experience thrills and screams with three huge haunted houses. There’s something to scare everyone at FrightTown!

The Maize at the Pumpkin Patch, Sauvie Island

Experience Halloween festivities on Sauvies Island. The Maize at the Pumpkin Patch offers several activities. Make your way through the corn maize that’s been carved into the Portland Timber’s Soccer logo. Enjoy a thrill at the haunted corn field starting this weekend, October 7^th; 7-10pm. Or enjoy some family fun at the animal barn, kids slide, bonfire, and so much more!

Glowing Greens Mini Golf

Glowing Greens is a black light indoor 3D Pirate miniature golf course, offering entertainment for every age.  Open daily from 12-10pm. Look for the pirate a block from Pioneer Square downtown Portland. The entrance is underground!

Halloween Fantasy Trail

Take a Halloween walk through a lighted wooded trail, decorated with spooky lights and sounds. Walk through a maze, crooked house, suspension bridge, and much more.

Enjoy traditional food and drinks, live music with over 30 musical groups, arts and crafts, Bavarian dancers, and much more! Most events are free, and a cover charge for entry into the Beirgartens.

Some highlights you won’t want to miss are the Mt. Angel school children that perform a German weaver’s dance and other Bavarian folk dances each day at noon. Or enjoy some food at the Alpine Food Booths with delicious Bavarian treats and other ethnic foods. Little alpine chalets line the village streets and beckon the festival visitors. On Friday and Saturday nights, the wonderful sounds of music, singing, and yodeling take place at the Bandstand. If you’re young at heart, you can try the street dancing with polka contests.

Mt. Angel is a quaint little town that will take you back to your German heritage. Founded in the late 1800s by German settlers, this town is an Old World flavor which is heightened by the many Bavarian style storefronts and the beautiful Benedictine Abbey.

Visit Mt. Angel and Oregon’s largest folk festival this weekend, you’ll be sure to have a great time!

Saturday September 24^th (11am-5pm), will mark the 10^th annual Build It Green (BIG!) Home Tour. This event allows you to view up close innovative remodeling and construction projects by local designers, homeowners, and contracting firms in the Portland Metro Area.

This is a self-guided tour of 22 green remodels and new homes, so you can choose when to start and stop at your leisure.
